Girl Friday Breakfast Club with Elissa Auther on Monday 28 January 2019

On Monday 28 January 2019 our Girl Friday Breakfast Club guest speaker will be Elissa Auther, curator and scholar of modern and contemporary art as well as the founder and co-director of the public program Feminism & Co.: Art, Sex, Politics. Currently, she is the Windgate Research and Collections Curator at the Museum of Arts and Design, New York City, and a Visiting Associate Professor at the Bard Graduate Center. Previously she was an Associate Professor of Contemporary Art at the University of Colorado and an independent curator.

Feminism & Co.: Art, Sex, Politics is a public program that explores issues of women and gender through forms of pedagogy that bring together the primary sites of feminism: the university, the non-profit sector, and the art world. As opposed to a lecture series, symposium, or other academic style of research sharing, Feminism & Co. is about access to critical debates surrounding feminist issues through then lens of creative practice, from performance and readings to hands-on making. Elissa co-directs Feminism & Co., which takes place at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver with Gillian Silverman, Associate Professor of English at the University of Colorado.

Please book your Girl Friday Breakfast in advance, so we know how many to cater for!

The Girl Friday Breakfast Club was established by Kate Reynolds and Anita Taylor to provide a friendly and informal space for women to meet, chat, and support each other. There is no agenda other than hearing from an interesting woman speaker, eating breakfast and drinking great coffee or tea together in Studio Cafe at Drawing Projects UK - usually - on the last Friday of each month from 8:00am to 10:00am. In January 2019 please note our timing is a little different, and Friday has slid into Monday!

All women, and those who identify as women, are very welcome to join the Girl Friday Breakfast Club.
