Girl Friday Breakfast Club with Nella Aarne on 28 February 2020

On Friday 28 February 2020 our Girl Friday Breakfast Club guest speaker will be Nella Aarne.

Nella Aarne is a curator living and working in South West England and London. She is the Co-Director of Obsidian Coast with artist Sam Smith, and the convener of the Of Animacy Reading Group at the ICA, London. She is also Interim Exhibitions Coordinator at Arnolfini and Network Administrator at Visual Arts South West. Envisaging feminist and feminine modes of practice, her work considers collaborative learning, generative responses to anxiety-inducing arts professionalism, and feminist thought engaging with the boundless agents that make up the material world. She seeks to employ democratic approaches to knowledge production and to create safe environments in which people can gather around shared concerns with care and sensitivity. Nella has worked on curatorial projects for Arnolfini, ICA, Glasgow International, Art Licks Weekend and Science Museum. She earned her BA Honours in History of Art from the University of Leeds in 2012, completed the MFA Curating programme at Goldsmiths in 2015, and was the recipient of the Curatorial Junior Fellowship at Goldsmiths in 2015–16.

The Girl Friday Breakfast Club was established by Kate Reynolds and Anita Taylor to provide a friendly and informal space for women to meet, chat, and support each other. There is no agenda other than hearing from an interesting woman speaker, eating breakfast and drinking great coffee or tea together at Drawing Projects UK on the last Friday of each month from 8:00am to 10:00am.

The ticket price covers your delicious breakfast catered by Miranda's Coffee Shop . Please book your Girl Friday Breakfast in advance here, so Miranda knows how many to cater for.  Miranda caters for gluten-free and vegan-friendly guests too.

All women, and those who identify as women, are very welcome to join the Girl Friday Breakfast Club at Drawing Projects UK.
