Choose Art I Give Light to Refugees Benefit Auction- online 8-29 June

Choose Art I Give Light to Refugees is a benefit art auction – online until midnight on 29 June 2020 – that aims to raise funds to help provide critical support for refugees affected by the global pandemic, to support them in gaining access to medical treatment and products to help prevent the further spread of Covid-19 within the refugee camps.

Gary Sangster, co-director of Drawing Projects UK, has been working with a group of international curators led by Nicky Ginsberg of NG Creative Residency, supported by an honorary committee of curators, artists, academics and philanthropists, who have all come together to support this cause by creating this online benefit art auction of 147 artworks.

The artists with work available in the auction include many associated with Drawing Projects UK and the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize exhibitions over the years. These include distinguished selectors: Deanna Petherbridge CBE and Yvonne Crossley; award-winners: Elisa Alaluusua, Jeanette Barnes, Caroline Burraway, Gary Lawrence, Juliette Losq, and Barbara Walker MBE; and many others associated with the Drawing Prize and Drawing Projects UK programmes: Michael Angove, Andy Black, Kate Black, Mandy Bonnell, Lucinda Burgess, Sarah Casey, Alice Couttoupes, Mike Collier, Gerry Davies, Frances Gynn, Janine Hall, Marguerite Horner, Fritz Horstman, Lisa Jones & Julia Davis, Jo Lane, Robert Luzar, Mairead McClean, George Meyrick, Sandra Porter, Andrew Roberts, Alex Roberts, Fiona G.
